Did Someone Say Big Daddy Burger?

Melissa Needs to Go Home Tonight

She doesn't need to leave for 7 hours...I guess that is why she is still smiling.

Quick Photo Shoot

Gavrah wore the flower that I wore the day that we got married. However, she did not stay happy for too long!

No More Umbilical Cord

Great 2 Week Check Up

Gavrah was supposed to go back to her birth weight of 7 pounds 13 ounces. Today she weighed in at a whopping 8 pounds 5 ounces. She also gained an inch. She now is 21 1/2 inches long. She showed the doctor that she can flip from her belly to her back. This really must have knocked her out! There is nothing better than a car ride home to recover.

Shopping!

We took a family trip to The Milky Way and Babies R Us. She shopped...until she dropped. Good thing her daddy is the "king of the swaddle."

Tubby Time

Tonight was so much better than our first attempt! We learned that Gavrah likes to be washed one section at a time, and she needs to have her pacifier close by. It also doesn't hurt to have the rock lullaby CD playing in the background. Thanks Leah, Corey, and kids! She was so relaxed, she fell asleep.

A little yoga in the morning

Baby Pictures

Pictures of the Nursery

Gavrah's Big Dig

4:40 AM- Alarm went off:
Mom- was already awake and thinking about how beautiful baby will be.
Dad- told a joke that came to him in a dream: "Do professional bowlers take performance enhancing drugs? Yes, Rolaids."

10:00 AM- Sitting in our delivery room that looks more like a hotel room. Mom had the potossin (or whatever the induction drug is called)about an hour ago. Now we wait...

11:00 AM- Water broke!

12:30- Epidural working!

1:30- Visit from Dr. Rogers; everything looks good: 5 cm, 90%, 0 station. Dad has little idea what any of that means.

5:15- We have a baby!

Change of Plans

Tuesday I was told that I would be induced on either Saturday or Sunday. Sunday is Mother's Day. Mom booked a flight to come from Friday to Wednesday. Dr. Rogers thought that I was delivering at Presbyterian Hospital. I found out yesterday that Carolina Medical Center (CMC) will not induce on weekends. I can not get induced until Thursday now. I wonder if Gavrah will decide to join us on her own before she will need to be induced????
